I use Frontier for both my phone and internet service. My monthly charges for just phone and DSL average $160 for that amount of money you would expect a working service. I have constant crackle in my phone but the biggest problem is the internet. At least once a month it is down sometimes for hours other times for days. Today it is down as it was 1 month ago almost to the day and the month before that and so on. When I spoke to their customer service today they told me they only had one ticket for my location in the past year. I ask how that could be and started to tell him dates that they were at my home. He did not have an answer but said they don't look at it as a repeat serious issue unless they see tickets. I wish I had a choice for phone and internet in my area because they would be gone!

Lack of Service | Frontier Communications review from Raleigh, North Carolina

Living around RTP area of NC I decided to use a more affordable thinking would be reliable. Nightmare begins, company was supposed to ship their gear to me then have a tech to install. Tech was here when i arrived home with the gear, he claimed it was set up, i hooked up my phone when he left, horrible noise and the DSL light was flickering, long story short no service even after calling corporate, they have NO Communication skills at all, was hoping for better. You are not alone. I was sold the same package and after running multiple speed tests found that I was getting anywhere from .89 to 1.25 download speeds and around .15 on the upload.

I called tech support and they told me that my line is actually provisioned for 1.344M/192K.

I asked them how they could sell me a package that states up to 6mbps when they couldn't even provide 1/2 of that and tech support said that I would need to call customer service.

When I called customer service they said that is why the price is so low. 29.99/month is not low for those kind of speeds

They have the worst customer service of all!!!! I have been trying calling them for three *** months and they just *** us over.

Our DVR is not working properly and they show up late. I was *** off that day and "cursing" to myself and they decided to stop come over ot fix the issue. Well buddy, I have been sitting in my apt for three hours and i had to go to work this *** tech person decided to show up 15 min before i had to go to work.

*** this company and their services. Use time warner, comcast, or other companies are way way way way way better then this *** frontier company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 :(

I try to support frontier telco because I retired from there after 32 and a half years but as I retired only my local managers in 3 rivers mich wished me well no person above that even the gm g meskoski even sent a email or made a call I have sent emails to Maggie and m Kelly about lake of gratitude to no avail I do not need recognition from frontier but it has happened to about every retiree for years AMERICA enough is enough

I wanted caller ID a little over a year ago. my home phone and internet are with Frontier. I got a salesman who had me on the phone talking to me over an hour. He said my bill would not go up. It went up more than ten dollars. I called to cancel caller ID recently and was told I would not be charged extra for it!!! I was charged $95 on the bill after asking for caller ID. My normal bill was about $61. Caller ID made it more than ten dollars more. I asked this person I was talking to about another item on my bill....and instead of saving ten dollars on my bill it was a "special promotion" on internet and after Feb. 2013 the bill would go up $10. Thus a savings of nothing. I called today and was told my bill would stay the same, $75....services are $60 but taxes make it $75. I said I would look for another provider and was told I was locked in for the next year and if I got another provider they would charge me $100 !! WAY TO GO FRONTIER. Greed. And I am a senior on a fixed income.

This is a lot of nonsense about Frontier increasing its network capability in Lafayette, IN by Q1 2013. I can assure you that based on my own and others experience in this area, the guaranteed 3 mbps actually translates into less than 1 mbps most evenings. Calling technical support yields nonsensical responses, and never they never admit they haven't built out the system to deal with the congestion.
