Advanced ReviewerWe live in a remote area of NY and frontier is our only available internet supplier other than sattelite which fails when it snows. We have been paying for their 6 MBS internet access for 10 years. For the last 5 years our service has been less than 2 MBS and now for 2 years it has been less than 1MBS.
After repeated calls and many hours on hold and speaking to their techs, nothing has improvd. Techs call and say it is fixed, but no improvement ever comes. Frontier causes us more aggravation than EVERYTHING ELSE TOGETHER IN OUR LIVES. Frontier must be one of the worst companies in existence.
They have sold service to many more people than they can supply it to.
Pleasant, but worthless, techs spend hours on phone with you doing the same tests over and over to wear you out until you just give up. If you have any other supplier available, do not even consider this company unless you are prepared to double your blood pressure medicine.
User's recommendation: Go anywhere else you can, it will be better.
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.
Frontier Communications Pros: Good landline, Paid tech support.
Frontier Communications Cons: Worst internet, Less than 1 mbs, Product performance.
Location: 137 Harrison Street, Gloversville, NY 12078

You pay for UP TO 6Mbs with any provider you are not guaranteed your speed. If you are on the lowest tier then nothing you can do.
If you are on a higher tier I would lower it down to as close to the speed you can actually get. DSL will probably never get better as speeds go down as you get farther away from the Telco Offices.
